UNEP Expert Taskforce on Energy Efficiency

Nov. 2, 2015

Stefan Thomas represents the bigEE initiative.

In order to develop best practice policy and strategy recommendations for deploying efficient lighting, appliances, and equipment in developing countries, the UNEP-GEF en.lighten and United for Efficiency (U4E) initiatives have created expert taskforces. The en.lighten and U4E initiatives are public-private partnerships that help developing and emerging economies transform their markets to energy-efficient lighting, appliances, and equipment. The policy and technical experts come from governments, international organizations, academic institutions, manufacturers, electric utilities, and financial institutions. One of them is Wuppertal Institute's Stefan Thomas representing the bigEE initiative within the U4E initiative. The first Expert Taskforce meeting on refrigerators is taking place on 3/4 November in Paris.
